When will it be my turn to be understood?

"I understand you."

"Are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?"

"It’s okay to cry, honey. I’m willing to listen."

Have you ever wondered why you are always the one who understands someone’s situation and matters, who always touches their heart when no one can even look at it. But when it comes to you…

You’re never understood.

Maybe your words ramble as you tell your thoughts. Your gestures became chaotic as you tried to make them visualise your picture. Your emotions mix up when you tell them how you feel.

But is it bad? Is it wrong?

To feel, to show, and to tell how to make them understand you.

The loneliest person you have met is yourself when you try to make people happy, even if it makes your heart fall to pieces.

When will it be your turn?

To be asked,

"How was your day?"

"Are you doing fine? Are you okay?"

To be assured,

"It’s okay to cry. I’m here."

"I will not leave you, especially in this situation."

To be understood,

"I understand you."

"I know what you feel. I know how it hurts."

Happily, people can see you as an open jar who can fill them with their thoughts because they know that you have no judgment.

Instead, understanding.

But when you try to put a piece of thought in their jar, they can’t even read it. They couldn’t even take a look.

"You shouldn’t feel that way. You should try to understand how they feel."

When will it be my turn?
