The beauty of life shows in the mirror
"Why do I feel like beauty isn't meant to meet me?" A gorgeous celebrity said.
She's nice, beautiful and everything that I want in life are all does she have. So why is she asking that?
I see the beauty of others in their rosy cheeks, cherry lips, sparkly eyes, long lashes, and all that I don't have.
It's been years since I stopped looking at the mirror for more than a minute— I know I'll feel insecure.
I am not familiar anymore of what I look. I go out with no makeup on and wearing a not-that-fashionable outfit.
No one will look at me anyway.
One afternoon, I went to a convenient store and bought something to eat there.
Then a lady approached me, "Hi, can I sit beside you?"
I was too stunned to speak when I saw how pretty she is. I just nodded and smiled.
A question pops up in my mind, "How to be beautiful like her? It’s like the world giving her a beautiful life."
It's embarrassing to sit beside her. I look down when I thought of that.
When she finished eating, she told me something I will never forget.
"I like your shirt. It looks good on you." She smiled and left me having hot cheeks.
Once I got home, a sun suddenly touched the mirror, and its light reflected on my face. It seems like the sun wants me to look at myself. I slowly walked towards the mirror.
My eyes got wet. For years, I didn't know that my hair grows like this; it's beautiful. I touched my eyes, nose, cheeks and lips.
I am...beautiful, right?
The colors spread at my room and took the dullness out of the way. The sun shines brightly and the wind hugged me lightly.
I feel alive for the second time.
"Why do I feel like beauty isn't meant to meet me?"
The beauty of life is meant for everyone, and it’s not just about physical features but also kindness. Generosity does not always require money. Sometimes, simple compliments will do.
We can not appreciate ourselves if we always look at someone’s reflection. Because the beauty of life only shows once you look at the mirror.
